RISE OF THE CONTINENTS (AUSTRALIA)

I have attached a link to a googledoc with a question sheet about Iain Stewart's programme.
I have even remembered to share it with you!

Nothing too taxing, but the key points of the programme are there to give a framework.
I'll do it for the other programmes too.

Fracking: The New Energy Rush

BBC2 WEDNESDAY 9pm
Prof Iain Stewart (mbe in the Queen's birthday honours list!) investigates a new and controversial energy rush for the natural gas found deep underground. Sometimes, this is right under the places people live in. Getting it out of the ground involves hydraulic fracturing - or fracking.
Iain travels to America to find to find out what it is, why it is a potential game changer and what we can learn from the US experience. He meets some of the people who have become rich from fracking as well as the communities worried about the risks.
Relevant to A2 geology in particular, Mendip residents, politicians worried about our future energy dependency on other countries and anyone who has (or will have) a gas bill.

IAIN STEWART'S NEW SERIES:
BBC 2 SUNDAYS 9.00PM

EPISODE 1: AFRICA
EPISODE 2: AUSTRALIA
EPISODE 3: THE AMERICAS
EPISODE 4: TO BE ANNOUNCED

The Earth’s continents are instantly recognizable.  These iconic landmasses seem permanent and unchanging, yet they are merely the wreckage of a much larger long-lost supercontinent – Pangaea. In this stunning four part series Professor Iain Stewart uncovers the evidence for this ancient past.  He reveals how the world around us is full of clues – in the rocks, the landscapes and even the animals.
